TIPI wedding styling (part 2)

November 16, 2018

As promised here is the second dose of tipi wedding styling and advice. I have called in a few experts to help me with these blogs because as a wedding stylist my expertise lie in the event design and I wanted to make sure I brought you much more juicy information. If you haven’t already read part 1 make sure you head back and give it a read! This one we are going to chat about location and then part three will be full of lots of hints and tips from the experts!

So, now you’re thinking this is all well and good zoey and yes I would love a tipi wedding but I just do not have the land. Having to pay a venue on top of a tipi is just not an option for us. Well lucky for you there are more and more option popping up for you. Speaking to couples at the open days I realised they felt their options were limited and the best they could find was golf club or social clubs who would rent them the land and access to the bar if wanted.

Most said this was not what they wanted for their wedding though, a social club didn’t have the luxury or exclusivity they wanted for their wedding, which I totally understand! Some people are lucky and they or family members have land they can use and it is pretty easy to get day permit which is all that is needed. This isn’t the case for most though and luckily this has come to light and there are option all over the UK to rent land, below I am going to discuss a few not too far from the Manchester area and what you get included. Also ask your tipi company they work with these types of venues and will be able to recommend the best suited to you.

I am going to chat about three options I have been too but if you are still not sure and looking for something else then get in touch, I have a full list of options! So first up is Hobbit Hill, this was where these beautiful pictures were taken and is actually in Clitheroe but is the perfect spot for a tipi or tent wedding. They have the cutest pods for family and friends to stay in but also enough land for you to set up some glamping tents. The views are spectacular and there is lots of wildlife around to see if you or your guests choose a nice country walk to clear that hangover!

They will soon have a lodge available as part of the package. I had the pleasure to have a nosey and the place is so tranquil, and the interiors are modern and luxuries it is the perfect bridal suite. With the light airy feel, it is the perfect place to get ready in the morning with your bridal party. I really fell in love with this place and is on my list to stay, I do love a good country walk and Clitheroe is a beautiful location for this. For me to recommend a venue I have to not only like the style and design but the staff or owners have to be warm and welcoming, these guys were great and I know they would be there to make sure your day was perfect.

So the next two are probably for the more adventures couples! Leaster Meadows and Pear Tree Farm both have fields available to for hire. For some this is a dream come true you get the land and it is your to do with as you please. Unlike Hobbit Hill there are no toilets, accommodation or power source available. As a wedding stylist for me this is the ultimate blank canvas venue and get me pretty excited. I know for some this would course overwhelm and just would know where to start, this why you would then hire me, only joking. Seriously, with a good tent company you wouldn’t need to stress they will be able to help with layout and ideas for you but if it all seems too much, I would stick with a venue your feel more comfortable with.

With a field you can plan the ultimate festival wedding or go crazy and host your own carnival. The possibilities are endless. It means you can have a collection of different tents for different events throughout the day. You can set up a glamping area, seen here at Pear Tree Farm by Timber and Canvas. You can have stages built for different act throughout the night, open tipis for chill out areas on warmer days. You can fairground rides brought in our hire some vintage carnival style games. There are so many options to make the day fun and personal.

However, you can also keep the ceremony and reception tents formal and stylish if you wish to make sure there is still a wedding feel to the day. A well thought out design along with all your fun added extras leads to an awesome day of celebrations with family and friends.

Another bonus for all options is you have more control over your food choice. For me I am big foodie so having the choice of caterer is a huge bonus at a venue. You can bring in food trucks for a relaxed day. With the tipis so secure you can still have the formal sit-down option, all you need it a catering tent.

So I have waffled on again, if you know me this is something I tend to do a lot sorry! I will end this part here but if you have any questions ask below or send me an email! I am always happy to chat all things weddings!
