With a fresh new year comes lots of lucky couples who will have got engaged over the holidays and are now excitedly planning an engagement party! I am Zoey, a Manchester wedding stylist and this is my blog that will hopefully inspire and encourage you along your wedding planning journey.
Now I do hear a lot that engagement parties are not needed and the money can be used towards the wedding instead. I get this thinking and we all know, no matter the size of the budget keeping within in it can be one the biggest struggles couples face. I really feel engagement parties are hugely important for the couples and should be treated as a test run for the wedding.

Especially for first time couples as wedding are very daunting things to plan. As a wedding stylist I am guility of this too, wedding professionals can forget this and the information overload couples receive can be confusing and overwhelming. Planning an engagement party gives you the chance to start small and figure some of the basics out.
It also gives you a chance to try out suppliers and see if you work well together and if they deliver on the day! From experience it is the thing that keeps coupes up at night, what if the band just never shows up, what if the caterers go to the wrong venue? These are all fears you cannot control but the main thing we fear is the unknown, so experiencing it all and realising that booking the right suppliers who really can have full trust in them.
